Namio Harukawa (1947 – 2020)
Japanese fetsish artist best known for his works depicting female domination. As a high school student he contributed his artwork to Kitan Club, a post-war pulp magazine that published sadomachistic artwork and prose. His artwork typically features women generously proportioned, sitting on the faces of weak and submissive men. Though he worked in pornographic magazines for the majority of his career, his work received wider recognition and critical acclaim beginning in the 2000s. He had his first solo exhibition at the Museum of Eroticism in Paris in 2013.
