Wonder Festival “Won-Fes” will be coming this summer again at Makuhari Messe, Tokyo! The admission ticket/guidebook is 2,500yen. There will be a number of announcements of new figures, special stage performances for fans to enjoy, and live broadcasts as well.

Kaiyodo, one of the largest companies which manufactures figurines and garage kits holds this event twice a year. Last one was in February. 2,002 dealers participated and 54,796 people visited. It’s the pinnacle event to showcase the talent for all the professional and amateur model makers, sculptors and toy companies.

The dealers/artists/companies will bring their products, showcase and works are available for purchase. You will be able to gain a glimpse of yet unreleased figures and garage kits from major companies, as well as enjoy the craftsmanship of individual creators, many of whom will be displaying original items that will not be sold anywhere else (or at all). It is the perfect opportunities for the fans to meet and talk to the artists as well.

There is also “Wonder Showcase” where the chosen artists’ works are highlighted and sold at the special booth. Wonder Festival Committee preselects the artists/art that enfolds how the spirit of Wonder Festival and the garage kit should be. People recommend the artist to Wonder Festival committee, or you can even submit yourself to be considered as a candidate.

There will be also commercial participants like game companies and candy manufacturers. Material and product manufacturers hold the workshops as 3D modeling events and promote their newest products and technology. And of course, cosplay. You can’t deny it’s THE Sanctuary of the garage kit fans.
