Yogu (Born in 1982)

A JAPANESE DOLL ARTIST BORN IN TOKI, GIFU PREFECTURE

Born withcongenital diseases. Experienced physical, sexual and mental abuse by her parents. When she was in junior high school, she was diagnosed with schizophrenia and started treatment. This is when she became interested in ball-jointed dolls and self-studied doll making. 

After she graduated highschool, she displayed her work at group exhibitions. Her clientele includes Eiji Otsuka, a comic writer. Her art has been published in the quarterly magazine “S” and shereceived a big response. In 2003, she left her family and moved to Tokyo. She has been in and out of hospital with serious mental disorders.

Her article has been serialized in the quarterly magazine, “TH” published by Atelier Third since 2010. In 2017, she held her solo exhibit in Vanilla Gallery, Tokyo after 13 years since her first exhibit. She also published her first doll art book, “FULLKELOID DOLLS.”
